1.220

前說眾生心有住著是為顛倒，然福由心造，豈亦是顛倒？若是，何名善法耶？恐潛此疑，故佛斷之。

Earlier it was said that when the minds of sentient beings have attachment, this is an inversion. Yet since merit is created by the mind, could it also be an inversion? If it were, how could it be called a wholesome dharma? Fearing that this doubt lay concealed, the Buddha severed it.
