1.41

此發問之端也。阿耨多羅三藐三菩提者，華言無上正等正覺也。問意以如來護念付囑現在、未來菩薩令成佛果，是菩薩雖發道心，誓度眾生、求成佛道，未知其心云何安住大乘？云何降伏妄心，使至佛果，不退失耶？

This is the outset of the question. 'Anuttarā samyaksambodhi' is translated into Chinese as 'unexcelled, perfect, complete awakening'. The intent of the question is: since the Tathāgata protects, keeps in mind, and entrusts present and future bodhisattvas to bring them to the fruition of buddhahood, though these bodhisattvas have generated the resolve for the Way, vowed to save sentient beings, and seek to achieve the Buddha Way, they do not yet know how their minds should peacefully abide in the Mahāyāna, nor how they should subdue their deluded minds so as to reach the fruition of buddhahood without backsliding.
