1.86

聞是章句乃至一念生淨信者，　若論實信之由，從多佛所以種善根，聞此大乘之法則能生信；至於一念少時生信，亦從佛所種諸善根而然也。

When they hear these lines and verses, even for a single thought-moment they produce pure faith." If one considers the cause of true faith, it is because they have planted roots of goodness under many Buddhas that they are able to produce faith upon hearing this Mahāyāna Dharma; even to produce faith for the brief span of a single thought-moment likewise occurs because they have planted roots of goodness under Buddhas.
