1.14

「序」者，由也次也。「品」者，梵云跋瞿，此云品，謂品類也。義類相從，即為一品。「第」者，欲令不亂。「一」者，義乃在初。釋名竟。

"Preface" means cause, and also sequence. "Chapter" in Sanskrit is *varga*, translated here as *pin*, meaning category. When meanings and categories follow one another, that forms a chapter. "Number" is intended to prevent confusion. "One" means the sense is at the beginning. The explanation of the title is concluded.
