2.41

「復有五道」下，第二總列。前別中但明天人，今則通明五道。修羅等或鬼或畜，故但云五道也。又六道中天人先有，三惡之內或有或無，此經無緣，故總云五也。此土眾竟。

From “There were also the five destinies” down, second, is the general listing. Earlier in the specific [listings] it only clarified gods and humans; here it universally clarifies the five destinies. Asura and the like are either ghosts or beasts, and so it only says “five destinies.” Furthermore, among the six destinies, gods and humans were already present [above], while among the three evil [destinies] some are present and some are absent; in this sūtra they lack conditions [to attend], so it universally says “five.” The assembly of this land is concluded.
