Question: What is the difference between sāpohere and sayunre? Answer: There are two explanations: one says they are identical; the other says they are different. If identical, there is no distinction between the two. If different, sāpohere is sarvajñatā (all-knowledge), and sayunre is sarvākārajñatā (knowledge of all aspects). Now I say: in the text explaining the five patiences, since the patience of quiescent extinction is divided into only two grades, there should not further be a distinction between sāpohere and sayunre. If they are explained again as having the implicit meaning of virtual awakening, then within the patience of quiescent extinction there are superior, middle, and inferior: the inferior is the tenth bhūmi, the middle is sarvajñatā, and the superior is sarvākārajñatā. If, according to the sūtra, transcending beyond the two truths is considered the eleventh bhūmi of sayunre, then it should be according to the former explanation, and so forth.
