4.21

「住千佛」下，二釋離達地。忉利天，此云三十三天也。《地經》云「二地作金光王」，《瓔珞》與此經同。「千法門」者，於前十善中一一各行百善也云云。

From "Abiding in a thousand buddhas..." onward is the second [ground], explaining the ground of freedom from defilement (vimalā-bhūmi). Trāyastriṃśa heaven is rendered here as the Heaven of the Thirty-Three. The *Daśabhūmika Sūtra* says: "On the second ground, one becomes a golden light king"; the *Yingluo jing* agrees with this sūtra. "A thousand Dharma-gates" means that within each of the previous ten virtues, one practices a hundred virtues, and so forth.
