問：云何惡道得無生忍？答：《大經》云「一切眾生皆有佛性，必當成佛。」今遇佛善知識，故得道也。及戒乘緩急，前已具明。以三品戒緩生惡道，大乘急故以惡道身見佛聞法。

Question: How do those in the evil destinies obtain the patience of non-arising? Answer: The Great Sūtra says: "All sentient beings possess buddha-nature and will certainly become buddhas." Now they encounter the Buddha as a good spiritual friend, and thus they attain the Way. Moreover, the matter of laxity or urgency regarding the precepts and the vehicle has already been fully explained before: because of laxity in the three grades of precepts they were born into evil destinies, but because of urgency in the Great Vehicle, with the bodies of evil destinies they see the Buddha and hear the Dharma.
