3.69

「善男子！習忍以前行十善菩薩有退有進，譬如輕毛隨風東西，是諸菩薩亦復如是，雖以十千劫行十正道發三菩提心，乃當入習忍位，亦常學三伏忍法，而不可字名。」

"Good sons! Prior to the patience of practice, bodhisattvas who practice the ten virtues have retrogression and progress, just as a light feather moves east and west with the wind. All these bodhisattvas are also like this: although they practice the ten correct paths and generate the three minds of bodhi for ten thousand kalpas, only then will they enter the stage of the patience of practice; they also constantly study the dharmas of the three patiences of subjugation, yet they cannot be designated by name."
