At that time, the Buddha said to the great king: "Listen attentively! I shall now expound the methods for protecting the state, so that you may uphold the prajñāpāramitā. When the state is about to fall into chaos and destruction, when the kalpa-fire burns, and when bandits come to devastate the state, you should invite one hundred Buddha images, one hundred Bodhisattva images, one hundred Arhat images, and one hundred assemblies of monks; the fourfold assembly and the sevenfold assembly together shall listen to this sūtra. You should invite one hundred Dharma masters to preach the prajñāpāramitā, and before one hundred lion-roar high seats, light one hundred lamps, burn one hundred blended incenses, and offer one hundred kinds of colored flowers, using them to make offerings to the Three Jewels. Provide the three robes and miscellaneous utensils to offer to the Dharma masters, and also provide light meals and midday meals at their proper times."
