釋曰：第三外人徵詰。生滅相違，如前所說，不應同時，如何說言即生即滅等也？或復有無相違，如何說言即有即空？

Exposition: Third, the inquiry by an opponent. Arising and cessation are mutually contradictory; as stated previously, they should not be simultaneous. How then can one say “precisely arise and precisely cease” and so forth? Or again, existence and non-existence are mutually contradictory; how can one say “precisely existent and precisely empty”?
