Commentary: Third, both person and dharma are empty. This is the emptiness of dharmas. It ought to speak of the emptiness of persons, but since it can be known by inference, it is omitted and not stated. Within the emptiness of dharmas, the text has two parts: first, distinguishing the emptiness of dharmas in terms of the causal stage; second, explaining the emptiness of dharmas based on the fruitional stage. The former has three parts: first, the proposition; next, the interrogation; and finally, the explanation. This is the proposition. That is, prajñā is a dharma, and a bodhisattva is a person; seeking a dharma within a person cannot be done, which is the emptiness of dharmas.
