問：何不別顯如下處等，但說一時？答：晝夜時分諸方不定，不可別說。又義不定，或一剎那、或復相續，不可定說。是故總相但說一時。

Question: Why not explicitly indicate [the time] as is done below with the location and so forth, but merely say “at one time”? Answer: Day, night, and periods of time are indeterminate across the various directions, so they cannot be specifically stated. Moreover, the meaning is indeterminate: it may be a single instant, or it may be continuous, so it cannot be definitively stated. For these reasons, in general terms it merely says “at one time.”
