1.67

釋曰：第二、別讚功德。非斷非常者，於四諦中，集諦是因、苦諦是果，十二緣生展轉相生，如是因果皆離斷常。又解因果相續不絕，如《成唯識》。因滅故非常，果生故非斷，非斷非常即因果中道。四諦緣生，義如上說。

Explanation: Second is separately praising their merits. Regarding "neither severed nor permanent": within the four truths, the truth of origination is the cause and the truth of suffering is the fruit; the twelve links of conditioned origination mutually produce one another in succession; cause and effect like this are both free from severance and permanence. Another explanation: cause and effect continue unbroken, as in the Vijñaptimātratāsiddhi. Because the cause ceases, it is not permanent; because the effect is produced, it is not severed; neither severed nor permanent is the middle path of cause and effect. The meaning of the four truths and conditioned origination is as explained above.
