Regarding the words "the ten powers": this praises the sixth virtue. There are naturally two explanations. One view says: the ten powers belong solely to the Buddha and no one else, referring to [the knowledge of] what is possible and impossible up to the exhaustion of outflows. Another view says: bodhisattvas also have ten powers, as the Prajñāpāramitopadeśa, fascicle 28, states: "The Buddha has the ten powers and the four fearlessnesses; does a bodhisattva have them or not? Answer: He has them. Which are they? First, the power of generating a firm, deep, and solid aspiration for the mind of omniscience; second, the power of great compassion; third, the power of great wisdom; fourth, the power of possessing complete vigor; fifth, the power of possessing complete meditative absorption; sixth, the power of possessing complete wisdom; seventh, the power of not tiring of saṃsāra; eighth, the power of the patience of the unproduced; ninth, the power of possessing complete liberation; tenth, the power of possessing complete unobstructed knowledge. It is as stated there (moreover, in some sūtra manuscripts, the four fearlessnesses are for the most part absent, and therefore cannot be relied upon)."
