Explanation: Below, the second part has twenty-four verses individually praising the five patiences. The text is divided into four: first, five verses praise the suppression patience; second, from 'wholesome awakening' downward, five verses praise the patience of faith; third, from 'flaming wisdom' downward, four verses praise the patience of compliance; fourth, from 'far-reaching' downward, ten verses jointly explain the two patiences of non-arising and quiescent extinction. Within the suppression patience, the text is divided into three: first, one and a half verses praise the skillful means; next, one verse reveals the correct stages; finally, two and a half verses reveal the power. The former part has three: the first two lines are the realm relied upon for faith; the next two lines explain the generation of the mind of faith; the last two lines correlate to royal positions. This is the first. The explanation of the meaning of the Three Jewels is fully detailed in a separate chapter.
