釋曰：第二釋自利行。文別有三：初之二句明自利行、次有一句顯利他行、後一句雙結二利。此即初也。言信心者，依《莊嚴論》此當上品，故彼第七云「行盡阿僧祇，長信令增長，眾善隨信集，亦具如海滿。」釋云「若諸菩薩行行盡一阿僧祇劫，爾時長養於信方至上品。」若准彼文，當十迴向。今此經文，重讚十住第七不退也。

Explanation: Second, explaining the practice of self-benefit. The text is divided into three: the first two lines explain the practice of self-benefit; the next line reveals the practice of benefiting others; the final line jointly concludes the two benefits. This is the first. As for 'the mind of faith', according to the *Mahāyānasūtrālaṃkāra* this corresponds to the superior grade; thus its seventh [chapter] says: 'Practicing through the end of an asaṃkhyeya, / one nurtures faith to make it increase; / all wholesome qualities assemble following faith, / and are complete like an ocean that is full.' The commentary says: 'If bodhisattvas practice their conduct until the end of one asaṃkhyeya kalpa, at that time they nurture faith so that it reaches the superior grade.' If measured against that text, it corresponds to the ten dedications. Now this sūtra text repeatedly praises the seventh [abode], non-regression, among the ten abodes.
