Commentary: Below, the fourth section has ten verses explaining the latter two patiences. In this there are three parts: first, two and a half verses separately explain the lower-grade anutpattika-dharma-kṣānti; next, the five verses from 'Equal Contemplation' onwards jointly explain the two patiences; finally, the two and a half verses from 'Perfect Wisdom' onwards explain the upper-grade patience of quietude and cessation. The first part contains two sections: first, a detailed explanation of the functional aspects; second, the extent of cutting off delusions. In explaining the functional aspects, the text has three parts: first, designating the name and matching it to the stage; next, the extent of the transformation realm; and finally, revealing the distinct marks of the bhūmi. This is the first part. 'Far-Reaching, Non-arising, king of the first dhyāna' designates the name and matches it to the stage. This seventh bhūmi reaches the final boundary of the stage of effort, purely cultivating the non-arising contemplation of tathatā, and is therefore named the Far-Reaching Bhūmi. As the Saṃdhinirmocana states, in this bhūmi one realizes and enters marklessness without deficiency and without interruption, unlike the sixth bhūmi where it manifests only temporarily; furthermore, it borders the eighth, pure bhūmi; being endowed with these two meanings, it is named the Far-Reaching Bhūmi.
