Commentary: Third, there are two and a half verses clarifying the stage of wondrous enlightenment. The text has two parts: first, directly praising the three virtues; second, from 'paramārtha-satya' onwards, repeatedly praising these virtues. In the first part there are four sections: 1) Designating the name and matching it to the stage: because perfect wisdom takes the markless as its object, it is called 'markless'; alternatively, because the function of wisdom is free from grasping and grasped, it is called 'markless'. 2) Exhausting the station of birth: thirty lives are exhausted, and one awakens equally to all objects, called 'equal great awakening'. The above two lines praise the virtue of wisdom. 3) Realizing great unconditionedness: the two kinds of complete cessation, with remainder and without remainder, are indestructible like a vajragarbha. This single line praises the virtue of severance. 4) Being endowed with great compassion: having exhausted birth and death, one possesses boundless compassion. This reveals that the virtue of grace extends to the limit of the future, hence it is called 'boundless'.
