Explanation: The second part clarifies the emptiness of phenomena. It has five phrases: 1. 'All phenomena gather' indicates the name and discerns the designation, meaning that because all phenomena gather together it is called a designation. 2. 'The illusory five aggregates' adduces an analogy to present the entity: like an illusion, the five aggregates are not a person, hence called a dharma designation. 3. 'Neither conjoined nor dispersed' reveals the distinct characteristics of dharmas; the various expositions differ. One says: The five aggregates forming a body is called 'conjoined'; when they disperse later, it is called 'dispersed'. Setting aside both characteristics, it therefore says 'neither conjoined nor dispersed'. By non-conceptual wisdom, one does not abide in saṃsāra, hence it is called 'unconjoined'; constantly giving rise to great compassion, one does not enter nirvāṇa, hence it is called 'undispersed'. 5. 'Dharmas are identical with the dharma-nature' is the gate of subsuming the false into the real: all dharmas take tathatā as their nature.
