釋曰：第二、顯其勝位。文別有二：初明證理、後明離過。此即初也。謂十住位初證生空理，由此證得聖人性故，名為定人，亦是不退。

Explanation: Second is revealing the superior stage. The text has two distinct parts: first, explaining the realization of the principle; second, explaining the departure from faults. This is the first. It means that in the stage of the ten abodes, one first realizes the principle of the emptiness of persons; because of thus realizing the nature of a noble person, one is called a determined person and is also non-retrogressing.
