釋曰：第三、舉勝簡劣。謂此位中雖行十忍，而滿分中簡前九忍，而行第十真諦忍觀，即說無生忍觀，名為第一義諦觀也。心心寂滅者，寂謂寂靜、滅謂除滅，即彼心行念念寂靜，滅除散動，故名心心寂滅。

Commentary: Third, presenting the superior to set aside the inferior. That is to say, although one practices the ten patiences in this stage, in the fulfillment stage one sets aside the previous nine patiences and practices the tenth, the patience-contemplation of ultimate truth, which is the non-arising patience-contemplation, termed the contemplation of paramārtha-satya. As for "from thought-moment to thought-moment, tranquil and extinguished," "tranquil" means stillness, and "extinguished" means elimination; that is, the mental activities of that state are tranquil from thought-moment to thought-moment, eliminating scattered movement, hence called "from thought-moment to thought-moment, tranquil and extinguished."
