釋曰：第三、正釋。謂由舊業熏習力故，而受三界分段生死，能為聖道之所依止故，名順道生。或可為化有情，受六道身，隨順聖道故，言順道生。雖有兩釋，前說為勝。如上所說，種性菩薩不生惡道故。

Commentary: Third, the correct explanation. By the force of the habituation of old karma, they undergo birth and death in mortal existence within the three realms; because this can serve as the basis for the noble path, it is called "birth in accord with the path." Alternatively, in order to transform sentient beings, they take on bodies in the six destinies, following along with the noble path, hence called "birth in accord with the path." Although there are two explanations, the former is superior. As stated above, bodhisattvas of the gotras do not take birth in the evil destinies.
