釋曰：第五、登位分齊。文別有二：初明登位、後明寶施。此明登位鳩摩伽。若依《本記》，翻為勝惡魔。初地離五怖畏，過二乘魔也。

Explanation: Fifth, the limits of ascending the stage. The text has two distinct parts: first explaining ascending the stage, and then explaining the gift of treasures. This explains ascending the stage of *kumāga*. According to the Original Commentary, it is translated as 'conquering evil māras.' The first bhūmi is free from the five fears and surpasses the māras of the two vehicles.
