釋曰：第二、辨觀差別。文別有三：初顯地別行、次辨除障、後位分齊。此即初也。為欲對治嗔煩惱故，修四無量。義如上說。

Explanation: Second, analyzing the distinctions of contemplation. The text has three distinct parts: first showing the distinctive practice of the stage, next analyzing the elimination of obstacles, and finally the limits of the stage. This is the first. In order to counteract the affliction of ill-will (dveṣa), one cultivates the four immeasurables. The meaning is as explained above.
