釋曰：第六、明慧菩薩。文別有三：初標位列名、次辨觀差別、後入位時分。此即初也。謂此位中行三明觀，故名明慧。

Explanation: Sixth, the Bright Wisdom Bodhisattva. The text has three parts: first, marking the rank and setting forth the name; next, distinguishing the differences of contemplation; and finally, the temporal stage of entering the rank. This is the first. It means that within this rank one practices the contemplation of the three clarities (traividya), and therefore it is named 'Bright Wisdom'.
