釋曰：次辨第八法師。文別有三：初標位列名、次顯地別行、後修行時分。此即初也。謂能了達二三諦，故名勝達，亦名勝慧。或可此地真俗雙行，如是難事此地能勝，故名勝達。

Explanation: Next, distinguishing the eighth Dharma master. The text has three parts: first, marking the rank and setting forth the name; next, showing the distinct practice of the bhūmi; and finally, the temporal period of cultivation. This is the first. It means that because one can thoroughly penetrate the two and three truths, one is named 'Superior Penetration', also named 'Superior Wisdom'. Alternatively, in this bhūmi ultimate and conventional are practiced simultaneously; since this bhūmi can overcome such a difficult matter, it is named 'Superior Penetration'.
