3.367

釋曰:第二、明滅心相。於此位中,除滅心心有執相故,名言勝也。滅心心相,有說滅見分相分二相,故言滅心心相。今解:滅心自性,名為滅心。若滅心上差別,名滅心相。

Explanation: The second clarifies extinguishing the marks of the mind. In this stage, because one eliminates and extinguishes the grasping marks possessed by mind and mental states, it is called superior. Regarding 'extinguishing the marks of mind and mental states,' some say that one extinguishes the two marks of the perceiving aspect (darśanabhāga) and the objective aspect (nimittabhāga); hence it is said 'extinguishing the marks of mind and mental states.' Now it is explained: extinguishing the intrinsic nature of the mind is called extinguishing the mind; extinguishing the differentiations upon the mind is called extinguishing the marks of the mind.
