3.73

釋曰：第二、轉教諸王。文別有七：一轉教諸王、二斑足王問、三普明奉答、四諸王等得益、五勅放餘王、六斑足捨國入道、七引說證成。此即初也。謂告諸王就命時到，應誦過去七佛經中偈句。

Explanation: Second, instructing the various kings in turn. The text is divided into seven parts: 1. instructing the various kings in turn; 2. King Kalmāṣapāda's questioning; 3. Samantaprabha's reverent reply; 4. the various kings and others obtaining benefits; 5. the command to release the remaining kings; 6. Kalmāṣapāda renouncing the kingdom to enter the Path; and 7. citing teachings to confirm and establish [it]. This is the first. It means that he addressed the various kings, saying that the time to forfeit their lives had arrived, and they should recite the verse lines from the sūtras of the past seven buddhas.
