Explanation: Third, explaining the stage of the path lineage. The text has four distinct parts: 1. stating the general name of the stage, 2. bringing out the substance of the stage, 3. the scope of gathering and converting, 4. distinguishing its superior function. This is the first. It means entering the first bhūmi, the noble path of equality free from grasper and grasped. Because this serves as the causal nature for the noble path, it is called the path lineage.
