Explanation: Second, entrusting the assembly and causing them to transform [beings]. That is, opening up the three practices to transform the sentient beings of the triple realm. Regarding the "three practices": first, the practice of emptiness; second, the practices of the seven worthies; and third, the practices of the ten goods. Some say: the entrustment has two parts: first, the entrustment causing them to understand; and second, from "for the sake of the triple realm" onward, entrusting the assembly and causing them to transform [beings]. "Opening up the path of wisdom of emptiness" is undefiled wisdom. "The practices of the seven worthies" are the seven contemplation methods. "The practices of the ten goods" are the ten courses of good action. This is proceeding from superior to inferior practices. Or alternatively, those who practice by faith and so on are the practices of the seven worthies.
