一明佛母者，一切諸佛從般若生，般若即是諸佛之母。〈不思議品〉云「此般若波羅蜜多是諸佛母、諸菩薩母，不共功德神通生處。」又〈奉持品〉云「大王！般若波羅蜜多能出生一切諸佛法、一切菩薩解脫法、一切國王無上法、一切有情出離法。」佛從母生，還彰母德力能護國，故說此經。

First, clarifying the mother of the buddhas: all buddhas are born from prajñā, and prajñā is the mother of all buddhas. The 'Chapter on the Inconceivable' states: 'This prajñāpāramitā is the mother of all buddhas and the mother of all bodhisattvas, the birthplace of unshared virtues and spiritual powers.' Furthermore, the 'Chapter on Receiving and Holding' states: 'Great King! Prajñāpāramitā can give birth to all buddha dharmas, all bodhisattva liberation dharmas, all supreme dharmas of kings, and all dharmas of transcendence for sentient beings.' The Buddha is born from the mother, and in turn reveals that the power of the mother's virtue can protect the state; therefore, this scripture was spoken.
