解曰：謂佛答王說護佛果，無量大眾得法眼淨。法眼淨者，無漏慧也。若證我空謂即初果，證法空者即初地矣。

The commentary explains: This means that as the Buddha answered the king and expounded the protection of the fruit of buddhahood, immeasurable members of the great assembly attained the purity of the Dharma-eye. The purity of the Dharma-eye refers to uncontaminated wisdom. If one realizes the emptiness of the self, it refers to the first fruit [of stream-entry]; if one realizes the emptiness of dharmas, it refers to the first bhūmi.
