The commentary states: Saying 'quiescent illumination' clarifies the consummation of the virtue of cognition. 'Unconditioned true liberation' clarifies the consummation of the virtue of severing. 'Great compassion responding and appearing' clarifies the consummation of the virtue of grace. 'Without equal' clarifies that all three of the above virtues are peerless. 'Serene and immovable' reveals the virtue of grace. Through the power of the Buddha's great compassion and vows to benefit others, responding and appearing in bodies of various kinds, both great and small, moving yet constantly quiescent, it is therefore called 'serene'; though showing coming and going, the essence is always immovable. Saying 'at ease' refers to manifesting transformations. Like eating horse-barley or showing bleeding, [the Buddha] is never shaken and is always at ease. 'Radiant light shining everywhere': the essence of the virtue of grace is like a pure maṇi gem; its essence encompasses the dharmadhātu, shining yet with nothing illuminated. The second major section concludes the preceding causes and fruits.
