解曰：於觸塵中有四大觸堅持等者，堅濕煗動別其體也，地水火風列四名也。持攝熟長，辨業用也。文有具闕，義類應知。望前所造，為緣，多少，如常分別。從此第四明五色根。

Exposition: Among the tangible objects, there are the four great tangibles: 'firm holding' and so on. Hardness, wetness, warmth, and motion distinguish their substances; earth, water, fire, and wind list their four names. Supporting, collecting, maturing, and expanding differentiate their operations and functions. Where the text is complete or deficient, their analogous meanings should be known. In relation to the aforementioned derived [matter], how many conditions they constitute is analyzed as usual. From this point, the fourth [part clarifies] the five material faculties.
