解曰：以法殊勝，在處處尊、在人人貴。於修行者，令諸王等敬之如佛，生尊重故。天妙香花者，舉其勝者而奉上故。從此第二廣明行位。大分為二：初別明行位、後結申受持。初別明中，分為十三，如次當悉。初習種性，於中分三：初標位辨相、次辨所修法、後結申滿位。且初第一標位辨相。

Exposition: Because the Dharma is supreme, it is revered in every place and honored in every person. Regarding practitioners, kings and others are made to revere them as they would the Buddha, so that respect is generated. 'Heavenly, wondrous incense and flowers' means that the most supreme things are offered up. From here is the second [section], which elaborates the stages of practice. It is divided into two main parts: first, distinct explanation of the stages of practice; second, concluding presentation of upholding them. Within the distinct explanation, it is divided into thirteen, which should be understood in sequence. First is the stage of acquired nature (gotra). Within this there are three parts: first, marking the stage and distinguishing its characteristics; second, distinguishing the dharmas practiced; third, concluding presentation of fulfilling the stage.
