Exposition: Explaining the name of this abiding: carefully contemplating their own bodies, staying far away from emptiness and existence, and cultivating correct practice is called the abiding of practice. 'They personally contemplate their own bodies' is the general heading. 'Six elements' refers to the six elements of earth and the rest. 'Faculties' refers to the eye and other faculties; as in the old sūtra, the fourteen faculties: the five physical faculties, the five feelings, female, male, mind, and vital faculty. It means contemplating the six elements and these faculties as arising, ceasing, and oppressive, entirely empty and non-self, in order to remedy those inversions. From here is the fourth, explaining the abiding of noble birth.
