Explaining this name: emulating the dedications performed by the buddhas of the three times, cultivating and emulating them in every thought-moment perfects this dedication. 'Constantly emulating' refers to the mind capable of receiving and emulating. 'All buddhas' refers to the loci from which one receives and emulates. 'The mind of dedication' is the matter received and emulated. As the Huayan says, the path of dedication of the buddhas, the World-Honoured Ones, is roughly of three kinds: the wholesome roots cultivated are dedicated to the dharmadhātu, because nothing equals it; dedicated to bodhi, because vows are fulfilled; dedicated to sentient beings, because they draw near to the Three Jewels. Receiving and practicing those three is precisely 'constantly emulating'. Hereafter is the fourth [part], explaining the dedication reaching all places.
