Explanation: Regarding "Vajragarbha," as that sūtra says, this is the bodhisattva Ākāśagarbha. In accordance with the previous wheel of Dharma, he manifests an exquisitely marvelous body, cultivating practices such as dāna, because his three wheels are pure. "Holding a vajra-maṇi in his hand" means that its substance is pure, hard, and dense like a vajra; this is precisely the vajra wish-fulfilling jewel, and whatever sentient beings seek is obtained. In accordance with the wheel of command, he manifests the wrathful Amṛtakuṇḍalī Vajra, displaying an eight-armed body, subduing all the hosts of asuras, the retinue of Yama, and all evil ghosts and spirits who afflict and harm sentient beings by spreading pestilence, in order to tame them. "Radiating white light" reveals his ability to banish the asuras and the like. He has the Heavenly King Virūḍhaka of the southern direction, along with immeasurable hosts of kumbhāṇḍas and pretas, as his retinue. The rest is as in the text. Hereafter is the third part: the bodhisattva of the western direction.
