'There were four kiṃnara kings': from this point down is the third, listing the assembly of ghosts and spirits, all of whom are musicians for Śakra. The first four spirits are named Dharma music, and the latter four spirits are named mundane music. 'Kiṃnara' translates as 'doubt spirit'. First, 'Dharma Kiṃnara': this spirit reveals the Dharma of the Four [Noble] Truths within his strings and woodwinds. 'Sublime Dharma Kiṃnara': this spirit plays the Dharma of the twelve links of dependent origination within his strings and woodwinds. 'Great Dharma Kiṃnara': this spirit reveals the Dharma of the six perfections within his strings and woodwinds. 'Preserver of the Dharma Kiṃnara': should properly be called 'Universal Preserver of the Dharma' (Dhāraṇī-dharma), but the text of the sūtra is abbreviated; this spirit also explains the wheel of Dharma of the three vehicles within his strings and woodwinds.
