1.69

「孫陀羅難陀」，是佛小弟，其人在俗有婦名孫陀利，今舉其婦標之，令知是小弟也。其人雖得羅漢但餘習未盡，於祇陀林中常行不等之心，現在作羯磨師，過去有分魚等事也。

"Sundarananda" was the Buddha's younger half-brother. When he was a layman, he had a wife named Sundarī. He is designated here by mentioning his wife so that one may know he was the younger brother. Although he attained arhatship, his residual habits were not yet extinguished; in the Jeta Grove he constantly acted with a partial mind. In the present he served as a karmadāna, and in the past there was the episode of dividing fish unequally.
