「佛復止舍利弗若說是事」，此下是第四段，第二止止，意言我若說權實二智者，時眾非直生驚疑之心，亦更生誹謗隨墜惡道，云何應說耶？

“The Buddha again stopped Śāriputra: ‘If I speak of this matter…’” From here down is the fourth section, the second refusal: the meaning is that if I were to expound the two knowledges of expedient and real, the assembly at that time would not merely give rise to astonishment and doubt, but would furthermore give rise to slander and consequently fall into the evil destinies; how should it be spoken?
