"Śāriputra, I now am also like this." Now, within the second [major section] of the prose, which directly explains the exposition by dharma, there were originally two parts. The preceding extensive explanation regarding the section on the Buddhas unfolding the three and revealing the one is that which elaborates upon the praise of the Buddhas' two wisdoms in the prose at the beginning of the preceding chapter, and in the preceding verses the meaning of revealing the one with respect to the Buddhas was concluded. Below this is the second [part], which extensively explains Śākyamuni Tathāgata unfolding the three and revealing the one; this elaborates upon the verses praising Śākya's two wisdoms in the prose at the beginning of the preceding chapter, based upon the meaning of Śākya unfolding the three. Within this section on Śākya, there are only five points: first, explaining the unfolding of the three; second, revealing the one; third, bringing up the five turbidities to explain the intention behind [teaching] the three first and the one afterward; fourth, distinguishing the genuine from the false to urge faith; fifth, explaining non-falsity. It omits the praise of the rarity of the Dharma, which only appears in the gāthās below. By taking this as a standard, we know that within the section on a single Buddha, the six points should be fully present, the texts and phrases reflecting each other. "I now am also like this": below this, the first [part] explains the unfolding of the three. "Having various desires" means that at the beginning of the Tathāgata's unfolding of the teaching, the three vehicles each have what they delight in. "Those attached deep in their hearts" means that at this time they are thereupon able to practice the practices. "According to their original natures" explains that their past conditioning differed.
