「欲與財物」此下四行半偈是第八，即頌第八付家業譬。上譬中本有四段，唯不頌第一臨欲終時付家業之時，自餘三段皆頌。「欲與財物」一行頌第二集證明之眾。「於此大眾說是我子」此兩行半，頌第三會父子天性。二十年者，人天受道器也。「凡我所有」一行頌上第四正付家業也。

"Wishing to give him the wealth and property" and the four and a half verses below are the eighth, precisely versifying the eighth parable, of entrusting the family estate. In the parable above there were originally four sections; only the first is not versified, the time of entrusting the family estate when approaching his end; the remaining three sections are all versified. The single verse "Wishing to give him the wealth and property" versifies the second, assembling the witnessing assembly. These two and a half verses, "Before this great assembly he declared, 'This is my son,'" versify the third, uniting the natural kinship of father and son. "Twenty years" refers to a vessel for receiving the Path among humans and devas. The single verse "All that I possess" versifies the fourth above, properly entrusting the family estate.
