「如彼大雲」以下，是舉外譬帖合。但合稟澤譬有二，一者歷別正合，此下是第二舉五種外譬帖合。「如彼大雲」，即帖第一合雲譬也。「雨於一切」此即帖合上雨譬也。「卉木叢林」即帖合上第二合草木也。「如其種性具足蒙潤」帖合受潤也。「各得生長」此即帖合第五增長譬也。

From "like that great cloud" onward is the adducing of the external parable to match and apply. The application of the parable of receiving moisture has two parts: first, the direct application in detail; from this point on is the second, adducing five kinds of external parables to match and apply. "Like that great cloud" matches the first application of the cloud parable. "Raining upon all" matches the application to the rain parable above. "Plants, trees, thickets, and forests" matches the second application to the plants and trees above. "Fully receiving moisture according to their nature" matches the reception of moisture. "Each achieving growth" matches the fifth parable of growth.
