「佛告」以下是品之第二明如來答。就中自有四段：第一唱四行之數，第二「此一者安住」下出四行體，第三「我滅度後」下一行半總勸修此四行，第四臨品末二十一行半通明四行得果安樂相也。

From 'The Buddha told...' downward is the second part of the chapter, explaining the Tathāgata's reply. Herein there are inherently four sections: first, proclaiming the number of the four practices; second, from 'The first is to peacefully abide...' downward, setting forth the essence of the four practices; third, from 'After my parinirvāṇa...' downward, one and a half lines universally exhorting the cultivation of these four practices; fourth, approaching the end of the chapter, twenty-one and a half lines universally explaining the peaceful and joyful aspect of obtaining the fruition through the four practices.
