「爾時世尊」以下勸信中第二偈頌，有四行便為四意，初偈勸精進，第二偈勸信，第三偈誡莫生疑，第四偈誡一心聽也。

"At that time the World-Honoured One" down is the second [part] within the exhortation to faith, the verse reiteration, having four lines which constitute four intents: the first verse exhorts vigour; the second verse exhorts faith; the third verse admonishes against giving rise to doubt; the fourth verse admonishes them to listen with single mind.
