"Śāriputra, all these are for the sake of attaining the One Buddha Vehicle": below this is the second [part], revealing the one, within which there are only three of the onenesses, omitting the oneness of persons. Here, saying "all these are for the sake of attaining the One Buddha Vehicle" is the oneness of teaching. "Because of omniscience": this single phrase is the oneness of fruit. "Śāriputra, in the Buddha-worlds of the ten directions there are not even two vehicles, how much less could there be three?": this explains the oneness of cause. Saying "there are not even two vehicles" means there is not even a bodhisattva vehicle exclusively practicing the six perfections, or a pratyekabuddha vehicle, how much less could there be a śrāvaka vehicle? Therefore, one knows that there is only the One Buddha Vehicle, which explains the meaning of the oneness of cause.
