"At that time, Śāriputra": within the exposition by dharma opening the three and revealing the one to transform persons of superior faculties, there were originally four sections; from here on is the third section, clarifying the Tathāgata's confirmation and endorsement of the signs of the person of superior faculties attaining understanding. Of the four sections originally mentioned, they are as a rule divided into two; here there are two parts: first, "The Buddha told Śāriputra" first recounts the past; second, recounting the present, from "I now wish again to cause you to remember your original vow" on.
