If sentient beings constituted by the Dharma of the ten causes and conditions take joy in hearing of emptiness, he directly expounds for them the five aggregates, twelve sense fields, and eighteen realms as none other than identical to emptiness. Or in verses of four, five, six, seven, eight, or nine syllables, repeating that the aggregates, realms, and sense fields are identical to emptiness. Or expounding that those who can penetrate the aggregates, sense fields, and realms as identical to emptiness are immediately given prediction. Or expounding independently that the aggregates, sense fields, and realms are identical to emptiness. Or expounding on his own without being asked that the aggregates, sense fields, and realms are identical to emptiness. Or expounding that knowing the aggregates, sense fields, and realms as identical to emptiness is called the prohibitions. Or raising analogies such as being like an illusion or like a transformation to illustrate that the aggregates, sense fields, and realms are identical to emptiness. Or expounding that past worlds and lands are identical to emptiness. Or expounding that the aggregates, realms, and sense fields of past births are identical to emptiness. Or expounding that identity to emptiness is vast and great. Or expounding that the identity of the aggregates, sense fields, and realms to emptiness is rare. Or questioning and disputing whether the aggregates, realms, and sense fields are identical to emptiness. This is conforming to joy and desire as the worldly siddhānta giving rise to the twelve divisions of sūtras of the shared teaching; or making twelve kinds of expounding on identity to emptiness to generate the wholesome; or making twelve kinds of expounding on identity to emptiness to destroy evil; or making twelve kinds of expounding on identity to emptiness to cause awakening to principle—this is the four siddhāntas giving rise to the twelve divisions of sūtras of the shared teaching.
